On Shoes and Mops

Today I discovered a principle of human behavior. Namely: An unattractive task becomes much more attractive if an even more repulsive errand is pressing.
Exhibit A:

This is a kitchen that was two hours previously filthy, disgusting and utterly hopeless. Just use your imagination. The cleaning of above kitchen has been on my "to-do" list for days, but I was unfortunately never able to summon the will to attempt it. Today, however, I needed to go look for running shoes. And I hate shopping. More than cleaning. Hence my discovery.
